One Acre Fund - Kenya
Make it happen!
Help make this project a reality by donating today. Any amount helps. One Acre Fund (OAF) is a non-profit organization started in January 2006, with the goal of completely re-thinking how to solve the chronic hunger problem in Africa. OAF does not give food away – handing out food will never solve hunger for more than one meal. Rather, it is pioneering a tiny investment package that will enable farm families to grow their own way out of hunger, permanently.
OAF uses markets to eradicate hunger permanently. OAF makes it possible for even the tiniest of farmers to participate in highly profitable agribusiness as it creates a “market bundle” that contains all the pieces our farmers need to plant, grow, and sell new crops that multiply the value of their harvest. By linking farmers with markets, it helps them to create a permanent solution to the hunger problem.
OAF has partnered with MBAs Without Borders to bring qualifed MBAs every 3-4 months to Kenya to serve in positions that combine field and management experience. As a young organization, OAF is ready to hand over large responsibility for specific, well-defined work modules. MBAs do and will continue to play a critical role in the future of One Acre Fund.
