For Fundacíon Proyecto Tití it takes 120 plastic bags to make one mochila! Since 1985, Proyecto Tití has been committed to raising public awareness to the plight of the cotton-top tamarin, through a variety of projects involving the local communities.
Proyecto Tití is seeking MBAs Without Borders support to build up and sustain their eco-mochilas project. This project has inspired the local village women of Los Limites to collect and prepare plastic bags so they can be croqueted into an eco-mochila. Sales from the mochilas help the community of Los Limites generate income that helps support their families while reducing their dependency on forest resources. This in terms helps save the need to kill the home of the cotton-top tamarin.
